Program Description

Event Details

On April 8th there will be a total eclipse of the Sun visible from the United States - the last one until 2045! Compared to the total solar eclipse in 2017, the Sun is in a period of higher activity, the eclipse will last longer and will cover a greater swath of the US.  85% of the Sun will be eclipsed here in Tappahannock.  Chesapeake Bay Governor's School faculty member Greg Dorsey will discuss what to expect during the eclipse and how to safely view it.  A community wide viewing event will be held outside of the Library on Monday, April 8 between 2:30 and 4:00.
